The Department of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a fellowship trained, clinically focused breast surgical oncologist at the Associate or Full Professor level, to join our elite team of experts, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. The candidate will provide exemplary breast multidisciplinary surgical oncology patient care; be an enthusiastic teacher of medical students, residents, fellows, as well as other healthcare professionals; has a discernable academic and research trajectory and track record. The successful candidate will have potential leadership opportunities as an Associate Program Director of our Surgical Oncology Fellowship along with the creation of a Breast Fellowship program. The position requires a strong participatory interest in service commitment to relevant local, regional, national and international professional organizations and programs. Rank of appointment is open and will be determined consonant with prior professional and academic accomplishments.
- BC in General Surgery with the American Board of Surgery
- Successful completion of a ACGME Surgical Oncology fellowship
- Completion of a Society of Surgical Oncology approved fellowship desired
- Eligible for State of Ohio Medical License
- Qualify for academic appointment – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.
The Division of Surgical Oncology focuses efforts on clinical and basic research activities devoted to the evaluation and management of cancer. Our goal is to provide excellence in clinical cancer care; to education medical students, residents, and fellows; and to conduct clinical and basic research. Our surgical oncology physicians are trained in general surgery, have been certified by the American Board of Surgery, have received additional training in surgical oncology, and are active members of the Society of Surgical Oncology. Special areas of expertise include gastrointestinal cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, thyroid cancer, head and neck cancer, and soft tissue sarcoma.
