Physician in Pediatric Palliative Medicine

The division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Childrens Hospital
of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) is undergoing a major expansion in clinical and research programs. The pediatric palliative medicine program, which is housed within this division, is experiencing similar growth.   We are seeking a pediatrician who is either board-eligible or board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine.

Board certification and practice in other pediatric subspecialties (in addition to hospice and palliative medicine) is also welcome.  This individual will be an active member of the pediatric
palliative interprofessional team consisting of physician, nurse practitioner, pastoral care, social work, and child life members. The ideal candidate will be an active participant in the expansion of our current pediatric palliative care program and the education of future pediatric palliative care providers.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

CHoR is a 167-bed facility that provides comprehensive tertiary and quaternary care, serving patients from the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast regions. The division and CHoR are part of the NCI designated Massey Cancer Center. The division offers a pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship with support for a 4th year. The division is the only one providing pediatric stem cell transplantation in Virginia.
