DBHDS is seeking dedicated psychiatrists to join our mission-driven teams across Virginia. As a valued clinical leader, youll deliver high-quality psychiatric care in inpatient settings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams devoted to recovery, dignity, and hope.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Lead individualized, evidence-based treatment planning
- Manage medication and therapeutic interventions using best practices
- Coordinate care and discharge planning with internal and external partners
- Participate in court hearings as needed
- Ensure timely, accurate medical documentation
- Provide on-call coverage as scheduled
Qualifications
- M.D. or equivalent from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an approved psychiatry residency program
- Active Virginia medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)
- DEA license to prescribe
