Podiatrist Opportunity - VA Medical Center in Washington, DC
Description:
The role of the Podiatrist in the position will have 60% of duties with Podiatry clinic and 40% surgical duties (which includes pre- operative evaluation, performance of surgery, post - operative evaluation). The podiatrist will diagnose and treat with follow-up as indicated by the guidelines of the Podiatry Clinic. They will participate in a team approach to patient care with medical staff, ancillary staff, residents, students, other services, patient and family members. Performs surgical correction of forefoot, rear-foot and ankle deformities as needed and indicated.
This is to include evaluation of in-patients from referral and on Podiatry Service. Take call as .indicated by Podiatry clinic guidelines. Act in adherence to the ethical principle of a Podiatrist and the medical profession as a whole. Appropriately assist with residency training program. Appropriately assist with other documentation standards as set forth by the VAMC including but not limited to patient encounters, clinical notes, {exams, assessment and treatment documentation), other performance standards. Maintain all medical education requirements as outlined by the VAMC, other duties assigned by the Chief of Podiatry.
Practice Highlights:
a. Performs surgery for forefoot, rear foot and ankle
b. Management of new patient consults for rear-foot and ankle
c. Assist with inpatient care
d. Diagnosis and treatment of all foot pathologies
e. Assist with Residency Program
f. Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Podiatry
Work Schedule: Full-Time 1.0 FTE
