The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The APP will possess strong clinical skills, excellent decision-making abilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED), including assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients across all age groups with a wide range of medical conditions.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging studies, and EKGs.
- Prescribe medications and manage treatments independently and in collaboration with the attending physician.
- Stabilize and manage critically ill or injured patients in emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care and treatment plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental goals for patient safety, efficiency, and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Provide patient education and discharge planning, including follow up care instructions and referrals to specialists as necessary.
- Participating in ongoing HIPAA training and compliance activities as required by the organization.
- Understanding and strictly following all medical staff services policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and effective operations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Masters degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or urgent care setting
REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Active and non-restricted state licensure as an APRN or PA
- Active and non-restricted DEA
- Current ACLS, BLS, and ATLS certifications
