Cleveland Clinic is currently seeking Clinical Associates to join the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery within the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (HVTI) at Weston Hospital in Weston, FL. These positions are designated to support evening and weekend coverage and are critical to ensuring high-quality, continuous care for adult inpatients undergoing cardiac and non-cardiac surgery.

Clinical Associates will be responsible for delivering direct patient care, consulting on complex medical and surgical cases, and supporting the surgical team through all phases of perioperative management. Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care for adult inpatients, including admission, evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, and ongoing medical management.
  • Assess and prepare patients scheduled for thoracic and cardiovascular procedures, including evaluating preoperative risks, optimizing chronic comorbidities, and developing individualized, evidence-based care plans.
  • Assist in the coordination of multidisciplinary care and facilitate subspecialty referrals when necessary to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Deliver preoperative, selected operative, and postoperative care; support cardiothoracic surgeons as a first assistant during procedures when needed.
  • Manage critically ill patients in accordance with ICU protocols and participate in rapid response and emergency cardiovascular interventions per hospital guidelines.
  • Perform core procedures and advanced techniques within the scope of thoracic and cardiovascular surgical practice.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Florida medical licensure (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in a relevant specialty (or international equivalent).
  • Must meet all Cleveland Clinic credentialing and privileging requirements.
