Work Schedule:

Compensation and Benefits:

About the Role:
As the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) in Reno, Nevada, the incumbent will oversee and lead the PM&R department. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties, ensuring the highest standard of care for veterans while managing the operational aspects of the department.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the PM&R department.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Supervise and mentor PM&R staff, including physicians, therapists, and support personnel.
Clinical Duties:
- Evaluate and treat patients with physical disabilities and impairments.
- Design comprehensive rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs.
- Oversee the use of therapeutic modalities to improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage the departments budget and resources efficiently.
- Develop and monitor performance metrics to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Foster a collaborative environment with other medical departments and services.
- Represent the PM&R department in medical staff meetings and committees.
Quality Improvement:
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Ensure continuous professional development for the PM&R team through training and education.
- Implement evidence-based practices within the department.
Patient and Staff Safety:
- Ensure a safe working environment for staff and patients.
- Adhere to all VA safety policies and guidelines.
- Address patient and staff concerns promptly and professionally.
Community and Outreach:
- Engage with the community to promote the services offered by the PM&R department.
- Collaborate with external organizations and agencies to enhance rehabilitation services for veterans.

Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
