Physician - General

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is actively recruiting a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our dedicated surgical team. This is a full-time, permanent position located at the Cape Coral VA Outpatient Center in Cape Coral, Florida.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide the full scope of general surgery care to Veterans

• Perform outpatient surgical and procedural services

• Conduct pre- and post-operative care, including patient evaluations and discharge planning

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, Veteran-centered care

• Supervise and mentor surgical residents and students in clinical care and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in a broad range of general surgical techniques

• Experience in minimally invasive surgical procedures

• Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring

• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team

• Prior experience in a VA or academic health system preferred
