Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is proud to announce the development of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program launching in July 2026. We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead the ACGME application process and shape Emergency Medicine training on Florida s West Coast. This role offers the opportunity to build a high-quality academic program while balancing administrative leadership and clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2025 ACGME application and accreditation process for a new Emergency Medicine residency
• Build and develop the GME program infrastructure and curriculum
• Provide clinical care in the Emergency Department
• Facilitate resident education and mentoring
• Manage administrative, leadership, and operational duties required for program success

Qualifications

• Board certified by ABEM or AOBEM
• Minimum 3 years recent educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited program
• Prior Program Director or Associate Program Director experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong background in medical education, scholarly activity, and clinical excellence
