Position Description:
The Penn Occupational Medicine team provides services to employees of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) at 3 locations in Philadelphia: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). The provider group currently consists of 5 Nurse Practitioners and 3 Physicians who see patients in the outpatient setting.
They are seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) – to join their team. The new hire will be based primarily at HUP but may occasionally rotate through PPMC and PAH, as well. The providers manage a wide range of employee health needs, such as:
- Medical care for workplace injuries
- Workers’ compensation management
- Employment examinations
- Environmental consultative services
- Employee health assessment programs
- Fitness for duty evaluations
- Return-to-work evaluations
- Surveillance for Occupational Health concerns
Candidates should be able to commit to an average of 2-3 day shifts per month. There are no evening, weekend, or on-call responsibilities associated with this position.
Minimum Requirements
CRNP candidates must possess:
- Licensure to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- A MSN or DNP
- Current certification as a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner
- Current CPR certification
- At least 2 years of experience, preferably in the Occupational Health or Primary Care settings
PA-C candidates must possess:
- Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- NCCPA certification
- Physician Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Current CPR certification
- At least 2 years of experience in the Occupational Health setting
