Cardiothoracic Surgeon – Build a Destination Heart & Vascular Program | Hilton Head, South Carolina

Novant Health – Hilton Head Regional Medical Center is seeking a mid-career Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our expanding Heart and Vascular Institute and play a key leadership role in developing a destination heart program on the beautiful coast of South Carolina.

This is a unique opportunity for a visionary surgeon with a builder’s mentality—someone passionate about creating and shaping a premier regional heart and vascular program. The ideal candidate will bring both technical excellence and strategic leadership, joining a dynamic team of cardiologists and vascular surgeons committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This is a full-time position that also requires being on call. 

You’ll have the opportunity to:

· Lead and design the continued growth of a destination heart and thoracic program in Hilton Head.

· Collaborate closely with a well-established team of cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and advanced practice providers.

· Advance our robotic thoracic surgery offerings and expand the low-dose CT lung cancer screening program to support comprehensive thoracic care.

· Influence the vision, infrastructure, and operational strategy of a growing regional Heart & Vascular Institute.

Candidate Qualifications

· Board Certified / Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery

· 5–10+ years of physician leadership experience preferred

· Demonstrated success in program development or service-line expansion

· Skilled in both cardiac and robotic thoracic surgery

· Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-building skills

· A mission-driven physician eager to build and innovate within a supportive system
