Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Maternal Nurse Reviewer to conduct clinical reviews and program monitoring for a respected non-profit organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must be qualified and actively credentialed/registered in New York State (e.g., Registered Professional Nurse).
  • Licensure: Active New York State credential (RN).
  • Experience: 
    • Must have at least 4 years of clinical practice experience in a facility or community-based setting, including medical, surgical, and/or obstetrical experience. Experience in pediatric/adolescent/ reproductive health care is preferred.
    • At least 2 years of acute care hospital experience is preferred.
    • At least 2 years of experience reviewing charts for the purpose of quality improvement or utilization review is preferred.
    • Knowledge of current disease/care management/coordination trends is preferred
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Must have the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, and to prioritize reviews and projects to be completed.
    • Must have strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to gather and analyze information from records, reports, and other sources.
    • Must be proficient in the use of standard office technology and basic Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
    • Must have the ability to travel to on-site review assignments within the metropolitan area (including Westchester and Long Island). Approximately 25 on-site days per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical reviews of medical records from a variety of sources as well as other documents crucial to the reviews, as appropriate.
  • Conduct interviews, observations, and reviews of other program documentation as part of comprehensive program monitoring.
  • Develop and draft reports in the form(s) required by the Department.
  • Track status of documents and reviews in databases and other shared platforms.
  • Provide technical assistance to program personnel, where appropriate.
  • Utilize data management tools appropriately to record monitoring findings.
