Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is actively seeking a BC/BE Otolaryngologist with Head and Neck Oncology sub-specialization to join our hospital-employed, salaried, general/subspeciality ENT practice. This is a great opportunity to become a part of a strong team with multiple interests. With a strong regional referral base of 500,000+ patients, this is a great chance to develop your skills at the regions only tertiary care and Level II Trauma center. 

The Role:

  • Provide Head and Neck surgical oncologic care alongside existing team of generalists and Head & Neck providers
  • Must be able to cover general adult and pediatric ENT call and clinic patients as needed
  • Current practice includes Otolaryngologists of general and sub-specialty background, and 5 Physician Associates
  • Opportunity to collaborate with other surgical specialties, including plastics and neurosurgery (including skull base).
  • Flexible practice development (with opportunity to tailor extent of extirpative/reconstructive services provided)
  • Close partnership with the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute (one of only two cancer centers in Maine part of a formal collaboration with Dana Farber Cancer Centre). Cancer center provides genetic testing/counselling services, facilitates tumor boards, and provides additional support services including nutrition, social work, and a dedicated Head & Neck nurse navigator
  • Flexible schedules and exceptional work/life balance
  • 1:5 call rotation
  • No facial trauma call
  • Average of 18 office patients per clinic day; 1-2 days in OR per week
  • Well-established hospital-based practice with no administrative duties or capital investment requirements
