Salary Range: $330,000 – $345,000 per year (commensurate with experience)



About the Role:

VA Sierra Nevada has a high-quality cancer care program with a multidisciplinary committee coordinating between all programs providing cancer-related services. The system’s R&D program is actively outreaching for opportunities to offer novel cancer treatments through clinical trials with VA’s Precision Oncology Programs, VA’s National Oncology Program, and the National Cancer Institute. We have locally-initiated research portfolios that are impacting key research and clinical priorities in the Veterans Health Administration. Our clinician scientists are recognized regional and national leaders influencing cancer care quality and access to care. We are seeking an oncologist who will be interested in contributing to our robust cancer care initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage hematologic and oncologic conditions.
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient consultations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive cancer care.
  • Participate in tumor boards and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize VA’s electronic health record system for documentation and care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Hematology and/or Oncology.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license.
