Locum - NP/PA - Emergency Medicine Mount Pleasant, MI

Key Responsibilities:
- Cover a 10-hour shift from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, autonomously managing approximately 20 patient encounters daily in a 25-bed ED setting.
- Collaborate with a supportive team, including one full-time NP and PRN PAs, with physician consultation always available.
- Perform and interpret EKGs, assist with patient assessments, and participate in the transfer and admission process as needed.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and provide safe, efficient emergency care within a Level 4 provisional trauma setting.
Required Skills: - Valid NP or PA license with current board certification in Emergency Medicine or a closely related field
- Extensive experience in emergency department settings, including autonomous practice
- Ability to interpret EKGs and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and competency in handling high-volume cases
- Proficiency with Cerner EHR system
Nice to Have Skills: - Prior experience in a Level 4 trauma center
- Knowledge of radiology procedures, orthopedics, or other specialty areas can be advantageous
- Familiarity with transfer protocols to referral centers like Bay Med and Lansing
Preferred Education and Experience: - Master's degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years of ER experience, preferably in a similar fast-paced environment
- Board certification required, with recent clinical practice
Other Requirements: - Active licensure, immunizations including Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, COVID-19, TB, and Tdap within specified periods
- Ability to credential within approximately 90 days
- Willingness to travel to and work at the designated facility
- Availability to start on 01/01/2026, with coverage through 04/09/2026
