Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Maternal Fetal Medicine in Lexington, KY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced physician to provide exceptional outpatient and consult services at Saint Joseph East Women's Hospital. In this position, you will conduct outpatient evaluations, review up to 600 ultrasound reports monthly, and perform essential diagnostic procedures including amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and first-trimester nuchal translucency assessments. The facility boasts a team of five sonographers, a registered nurse, CMA, and supporting medical staff, ensuring a collaborative work setting. This is an outpatient-focused role with consult coverage, requiring strong ultrasounds skills and experience with EMR systems like EPIC and Viewpoint.

Required Skills:

• Board certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Proven experience with prenatal diagnostic procedures
• Proficiency in obstetric ultrasonography and reporting
• Ability to interpret and analyze ultrasound findings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with EPIC/Viewpoint EMR systems

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience working with high-risk pregnancies
• Previous locum or temporary assignment experience
• Knowledge of hospital workflows and outpatient management

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Minimum of 3+ years post-fellowship clinical practice
• Experience in outpatient and inpatient maternal-fetal care

Other Requirements:

• Clear malpractice history (current cases may be discussed)
• Credentialing completed within 60-90 days; emergency privileges possible
• Willingness to work full weeks from January 14 to March 3, 2026
• No call responsibilities; schedule Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm with an hour and a half lunch and dedicated charting time

Position Details:

• Hourly Pay Rate: $650 - $685
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8 am - 5 pm
• Start Date: February 1, 2026
• Location: Lexington, KY – Saint Joseph East Women's Hospital
• Setting: Outpatient and Inpatient (consult coverage)
• Benefits include comprehensive medical coverage, weekly pay via direct deposit, licensure and travel reimbursements, paid sick leave, and referral bonuses. Orientation pay of $325-$342.50 applies after the first 8 hours; holiday pay is $975-$1027.50 per holiday hour.
