Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular
Join our innovative cardiovascular team as a dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and make a meaningful impact on patient care. This critical role involves providing high-quality support in surgical and clinical settings, including first assisting in complex procedures, inpatient rounding, and managing outpatient consultations. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team committed to advancing cardiovascular health through excellent clinical practice and compassionate patient engagement.
What You Will Do:
- Provide comprehensive care in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery, including surgical first assisting, inpatient rounding, and outpatient management.
- Participate in 7-8 days of call per month, including 24-hour weekend calls and night calls during the week after clinical hours.
- Perform clinical duties over 2-4 days per month, ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Engage in inpatient and outpatient services, contributing to a collaborative and professional environment.
- Support surgical procedures as a first assistant, enhancing procedural success and patient safety.
Required Skills: - Valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with certification in cardiology or cardiovascular surgery.
- Prior experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgical environments.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and procedural skills, including surgical first assisting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to handle 24-hour call responsibilities effectively.
Nice to Have Skills: - Experience with hospital-based clinical workflows and inpatient rounding.
- Knowledge of EHR systems and documentation standards.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS or BLS.
Preferred Education and Experience: - Master’s degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgical support experience.
- Prior involvement in surgical first assisting roles is highly desirable.
Other Requirements: - Ability to work scheduled clinic days and hospital shifts with flexibility for call duties.
- Willingness to travel if required for training or conferences.
- Valid state license and current certification(s).
