We are currently recruiting a full-time Gastroenterologist who is proficient in general GI procedures (EGD and colonoscopy) and interested in hepatology, motility, or IBD. J-1 applicants are welcome to apply.  

 Our facility utilizes 190 Olympus scopes and provides anesthesia on select days to support a comprehensive range of general gastrointestinal (GI) procedures.

Research Opportunity: Research can be explored for an appointment at WFBH.

Benefits

Salary Range: $350,000-$400,000

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Work-Life Balance: Various flexible schedule options are available. This includes standard 8–10-hour workdays and compressed work schedules.

Call Schedule: There is no call at Kernersville. It is an HCC. Can take calls at Salisbury VA Medical Center one day a week.

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by V.A.
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.

Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.

Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty.

Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible. Must be eligible for academic appointment.
