Join Our Team as an Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Physician

Required Skills:

• Medical license valid in Michigan (MI)
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
• Proven experience in performing endoscopic procedures including EGDs, colonoscopies, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopies, PEG/PEG-J tube placements, ERCP/EUS (preferred), hydrogen breath testing, and capsule endoscopy
• Strong clinical judgment and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage patient caseloads
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with nursing and support staff

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Cerner, gGastro, Athena EMR systems
• Familiarity with hospital-based procedures and protocols
• Additional certifications in advanced endoscopic techniques
• Prior locum tenens or temporary assignment experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Active Michigan medical license
• Minimum of 2 years of post-residency or post-fellowship experience in gastroenterology
• Experience performing ERCP/EUS procedures is highly desirable

Other Requirements:

• Availability for block coverage on scheduled dates
• Willingness to work full shift schedules, including overnight call and weekend coverage
• Complete credentialing and billing enrollment prior to start date
• Responsibilities include thorough charting, reviewing pathology, and communicating results and follow-up plans directly with patients and nursing staff
• No scribe support; provider responsible for all documentation
• Efficiently manage approximately 12 patients per day
