Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System (WCHS) is seeking a Family Medicine physician to serve as Ambulatory Medical Director in a mission-driven, tribal healthcare system dedicated to improving access, quality, and community health outcomes. This is a full-time employed leadership opportunity combining 50% administrative time and 50% clinical care, ideal for a physician looking to make a meaningful impact through both patient care and system leadership.
Ambulatory Medical Director role
50% administrative / 50% clinical time
One dedicated clinic day per week
Outpatient-focused practice

Full-time, employed by the health system
One-year contract with automatic renewal
Outpatient clinic located within a full-service critical access hospital
Clinic support includes: Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, and specialty access
Current staffing:
1 FTE physician
1 contracted physician (2 days/month)
6 Advanced Practice Providers
Average panel size: 500–1,000 patients
In-office procedures supported
EMR: Meditech Expanse
Specialty access includes Dermatology, Urology, Nephrology, Family Medicine, and Podiatry
Clinic coverage:
Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Schedule varies by provider
No clinic on weekends
All weekday calls routed to nursing line
After-hours and weekend calls routed to the Emergency Department
Leadership-related call responsibilities only
13-bed facility
Average daily census: 1
Low-acuity patient population
No pediatric admissions
ED providers round on admitted patients
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (preferred)
ATLS certification preferred
Leadership experience or interest strongly desired
No visa sponsorship available
