Career Overview – PRN Advanced Practice Clinician (FNP/PA), AFC Urgent Care
Bon Secours Mercy Health is expanding its footprint in South Carolina and is seeking a dedicated, compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our Mauldin AFC Urgent Care Clinic in Greenville, SC. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative, fast-paced urgent care environment while enjoying predictable scheduling and strong organizational support.
As a member of our urgent care team, you will evaluate and treat a broad spectrum of non-emergent illnesses and injuries, supported by experienced medical assistants and front-office staff. Our clinics operate seven days per week, offering consistency, work-life balance, and meaningful connections with patients and colleagues.
Urgent Care Scope of Services
- Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care
- Occupational medicine services, including workers’ compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals
- On-site diagnostics, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs
- Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for walk-in urgent care patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care.
- Collaborate closely with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Educate patients and clearly communicate care plans and follow-up instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality, patient satisfaction, and continuous professional growth.
- Travel Requirements: (required)
- PRN: 100% travel required (no mileage reimbursement)
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted South Carolina PA or FNP license (active before starting - Required)
- Active DEA and CDS licenses (active before starting-required)
- Minimum of 1-2 years of active experience as a PA or FNP (preferred)
- 12-week Jump Start Program available for new graduates
- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine experience (strongly preferred)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment (required)
- DOT certification within 60 days of hire (required)
- Must be comfortable treating patients of all ages, including infants (required)
Work Hours: PRN:
- Minimum of 24 hours per month
- Up to one hour of travel (required)
- Clinics are closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
