Physician - Cardiology

Join Our Team as a Locum Interventional Cardiologist in West Burlington, IA

Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Locum Interventional Cardiologist to provide exceptional care in a dynamic, collaborative environment. In this role, you will be responsible for inpatient, outpatient, and call duties, working alongside other skilled interventional cardiologists. The position involves managing adult patients within a well-established practice setting, utilizing Cerner EMR with a planned transition to Epic in 2026. You will typically see 15-18 patients per day in the clinic, with rotations covering weekday and weekend call shifts to ensure continuous patient care.

Required Skills:

• Board-certified or eligible in Interventional Cardiology
• Valid medical license in Iowa or ability to obtain one promptly
• Proficiency in Cerner EMR or similar electronic health record systems
• Strong diagnostic and procedural skills in interventional cardiology
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience working in a hospital or outpatient setting
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system
• Ability to handle complex cardiovascular cases

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• At least 2 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in interventional cardiology
• Prior experience in inpatient and outpatient settings preferred

Other Requirements:

• Credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days; shorter if licensed in Iowa
• Travel reimbursement includes flights, hotel (preferably Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn in West Burlington), rental car, and mileage at IRS standard rates
• Willingness to participate in weekday, weeknight, and weekend call rotations
• Must be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and adapting to EMR system changes
