Required Skills:

  • Valid Physician Assistant licensure and certification.
  • Proficiency in performing diagnostic studies such as EMG, X-ray, CT, MRI, and bone scans.
  • Skilled in procedures including digital blocks, regional anesthesia, fracture reductions, joint and bursa injections, wound management, and minor outpatient surgeries.
  • Experience with assisting in surgical procedures, including tissue closures and hardware removal.
  • Competence in electronic health record (EHR) documentation and order entry with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in high-pressure and emergent situations.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, especially in multidisciplinary team settings.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience in orthopedic surgery settings.
  • Familiarity with hospital-based emergency department protocols.
  • Additional certifications in advanced orthopedic techniques or procedures.
  • Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic surgery or related clinical environments.
  • Prior experience working as a locum or temporary provider is advantageous.

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to participate in rotating call schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Oregon state licensure and other relevant certifications.
  • Travel reimbursements, licensure, and certification reimbursements provided as applicable.
