Locum - Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Orthopedic Coos Bay, OR

Required Skills:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Oregon
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) for documentation, order entry, and assessment
  • Experience performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as joint injections, fracture reductions, and wound management
  • Ability to perform minor outpatient surgical procedures, including wound debridement, tissue closures, and biopsies
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic practices and protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Certification in orthopedic or surgical procedures
  • Previous experience in hospital or emergency department settings
  • Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities (X-ray, MRI, CT, bone scans)
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
  • Prior experience in orthopedic or surgical outpatient clinics, emergency departments, or hospital settings
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner in surgical specialties

Other Requirements:
  • Must participate in rotation for on-call coverage, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Ability to handle emergent and stressful situations effectively
  • Willingness to adapt to a rotating schedule as needed
  • Valid ACLS/PALS certification (if required for specific procedures)
