Join Our Leading Healthcare Team as an Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology Specialist
Elevate your medical career by becoming a vital part of our esteemed healthcare network, providing expert hematology and oncology care in a dynamic, patient-centered environment. This locum opportunity offers a rewarding chance to make a meaningful impact on patient lives while advancing your professional expertise.
Responsibilities include managing a panel of established and new patients, providing comprehensive outpatient care, and responding promptly to any urgent reactions during treatments. You will work closely with nursing staff and advanced practice providers, overseeing chemotherapy orders and ensuring patient safety throughout infusion procedures. The role requires active participation in pre-charting, clinic consultations, and post-visit documentation, with the flexibility to respond to patient inquiries and manage treatment reactions efficiently.
This position offers guaranteed hours of 10 per week, with overtime available after 40 hours, ensuring a consistent schedule and income. The clinic operates Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 am to 6 pm, including a lunch break from 12 pm to 1 pm. It is hospital-based, requiring current privileges, an active Oregon medical license, Oregon DEA registration, and certification in BLS. While more than likely not involved in bone marrow biopsies, providers must be board-certified and prepared to manage urgent treatment scenarios until the rapid response team arrives.
Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to handle high-pressure situations, and a collaborative approach to patient care. Additional skills such as experience with infusion protocols or previous hospital-based practice are advantageous but not mandatory.
Preferred qualifications include board certification in hematology or oncology, prior outpatient or hospital-based practice experience, and Oregon medical licensure with privileges.
Other requirements involve maintaining certification, complying with hospital policies, and readiness to respond to clinical needs. Travel and licensure reimbursement, along with licensure, certification, and other reimbursements when applicable, are provided.
Seize this exceptional opportunity to contribute to meaningful patient outcomes while enjoying a flexible schedule and comprehensive benefits. Apply now to take the next step in your professional journey and make a lasting difference in patient care.
