Join Our Team as a Locum Physician – Otolaryngology in Kearney, NE

Our Level II Trauma Center is currently experiencing a shortfall of ENT physicians and invites experienced professionals to provide vital coverage over weekends. In this role, you will assist in maintaining our critical 24/7 ENT coverage, ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality care at a busy Level II Trauma Center. Your expertise will support trauma and emergency department physicians while providing procedures such as adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy, lump and tumor removal, and audiograms. This position offers a FTE of 0.33, primarily covering weekend shifts, with specific scheduled dates throughout 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ENT call coverage and respond promptly to trauma/ED physician requests
- Perform essential procedures including adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy, and tumor removal
- Collaborate with anesthesia, CRNA, and surgical teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and record-keeping
- Maintain adherence to facility protocols and ensure patient safety
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Board-certified in Otolaryngology (MD or D.O.)
- Valid medical license in the state of Nebraska
- Proven experience in ENT procedures and trauma coverage
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to the hospital’s environment
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
- Prior trauma center or Level II facility experience
- Bilingual abilities or additional language skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2-3 years post-residency clinical experience
- Previous locum or emergency coverage preferred
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel to Kearney, NE from your location; preferred lodging at Candlewood Suites
- Travel arrangements to be coordinated, with travel exceptions considered if disclosed upfront
- Credentialing completed within 30-90 days
- Must be willing to work scheduled weekend shifts and participate in designated holiday coverage
Compensation & Benefits:

Additional Compensation:
- Orientation: $187.50–$212.50 (half the hourly rate after 8 hours)
- On-Call Per 24 Hours: $3,100–$3,350
- Holiday Call Rate (24 Hours): $4,650–$5,025
- Call Back Rate: $375–$425 per patient contact hour
- Holiday Call Back Rate: $562.50–$637.50 per hour
