Locum - Physician - Urology Paducah, KY
Embark on an impactful healthcare opportunity as a Locum Urologist in the vibrant community of Paducah, KY. Join a dedicated hospital team providing essential inpatient urology coverage starting February 14, 2026. This role offers a unique chance to leverage your expertise to support patient care during weekends, ensuring continuous access to specialized urological services. As a critical member of the medical staff, you will manage consults, round on inpatients, and perform procedures or surgeries as needed, helping to relieve the ongoing workload of the employed physician.
Required Skills:
- Valid Urology Board Certification or Board Eligibility
- Active Kentucky medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Proven experience in general urology procedures and advanced endoscopic techniques
- Ureteroscopy and laser surgery proficiency
- Ability to work independently in a hospital setting
- Strong communication and patient management skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with robotic surgery (though not required)
- Certification in laser procedures
- Skilled in managing inpatient and consults independently
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of Urology practice, preferably in a hospital environment
- Prior locum or hospital-based experience is highly desirable
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing period approximately 90 days, with temporary privileges available
- Ability to work 2-3 weekends per month (Thursday or Friday morning through Monday morning)
- On-call availability for consults and procedures
- Participation in procedures utilizing robotic surgical systems, if proficient
- Travel reimbursements including standard/economy bookings and up to approximately $150/night lodging cap
- Labs and X-ray services available onsite
Position Details:
- Practice Setting: Inpatient/Hospital-Based
- Hourly Pay Rate: $19.50
