Physician - Behavioral Health

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Fairview is seeking a casual Physician - Psychiatry - Programmatic Care to join our behavioral health team. The provider will caring for patients with Behavioral Care needs within a program care setting, including patient care management, timely admission history and physicals, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribing medications, and discharge planning. Provides Psychiatric consultations within Mental Health and Addiction Services and across the Fairview system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and document histories of culturally diverse patients, including assessment of risk factors and mental status.
• Develop appropriate differential diagnoses and comprehensive treatment plans.
• Develop DSM-5 differential diagnoses and integrated case formulations addressing various issues.
• Assess and document risks of self-harm or harm to others and implement prevention methods.
• Identify and intervene in cases of suspected child abuse and neglect.
• Conduct developmentally appropriate interviews with patients and families.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapies using established therapeutic models.
• Recognize and treat psychiatric disorders, including substance use disorder, with onset in childhood and adolescence.
• Create and manage integrated psychopharmacological treatment plans considering developmental factors.
• Continuously monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team, including responsiveness via phone, electronic messaging, telehealth platforms, and in-person interaction as clinically appropriate during business hours.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or
• Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
• American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

Preferred Qualifications

• Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry

Qualifications:

$180.10 / hour
