Palliative Care Physician – Department Chair - IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, IN
Join a highly regarded and forward-moving Palliative Care program at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. This role offers the opportunity to lead with purpose and influence meaningful, system-level impact.
Position Details:
As Department Chair at 1.0 FTE, you would be collaborating with interdisciplinary teams both inpatient and outpatient in addition to expanding the service line to ambulatory across region leading the Palliative team.
- Will have clinical oversight of Palliative Care physicians, APPs and Nurses.
- Will be an advocate of the program to executive leadership while also having the ability to partner with Palliative Care Department chairs across the system.
- Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM
- No calls, no holidays.
- Adult Inpatient/Outpatient Consult Service
- Well-Established and comprehensive inpatient team.
- Approximately 25-30 patients per week (adult-geriatric, stroke, oncology, multiple co-morbidities)
- Provide virtual support to our two critical access hospitals.
- Teaching opportunities with family medicine residents
- Participation in hospital and system wide incentives
Qualifications:
- BE/BC Palliative Care
- Palliative Care Fellowship required.
- MD/DO Indiana license or eligible
- Consistent and consecutive employment/training history
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to provide high quality patient care
- Team oriented, positive and patient centered
- Commitment to lifelong learning and open to change/improvement
