Chief, Division of Palliative Medicine
Albany Medical College is seeking a thoughtful and collaborative physician leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Palliative Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a well-established palliative care program while advancing clinical care, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration across the Albany Med Health System.
Albany Medical College is part of the Albany Med Health System, the only academic health sciences center in northeastern New York and home to the region’s largest hospital, the only Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers, and the area’s only children’s hospital. The system serves more than three million people across 25 counties.
About the Division
The Division of Palliative Medicine provides hospital-based consultative care focused on improving quality of life for patients with serious illness. The current interdisciplinary team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, chaplaincy, and psychology support, working closely with specialty services throughout the hospital.
The program maintains strong collaborations with teams such as geriatrics and other medical subspecialties and plays an active role in teaching residents and medical students through clinical supervision and didactic education.
About the Role
As Chief of the Division of Palliative Medicine, you will oversee the clinical, academic, and educational mission of the division while guiding the continued growth of palliative care services across the institution.
Working closely with departmental and health system leadership, the Chief will help shape the strategic vision for palliative care and expand interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the needs of patients and families across the region.
