Founded with the mission to transform dementia care across upstate New York, the Center is deeply supported by the institution, community partners, and strong philanthropic backing. We’re looking for a leader who brings clinical excellence, a passion for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and a commitment to advancing research and education in this field.

Why Join Us?
• Serve a diverse and growing patient population across 23 counties and more than 2.5 million people.

• Collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team of neurologists, neuropsychologists, geriatricians, psychiatrists, social workers, and support staff.
• Be part of a well-integrated system with strong infrastructure support from Albany Med Neurology and Albany Medical Center, including scheduling, supplies, research staff, and access to key departments like radiology and infusion services.
• Take part in training and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, with institutional support for scholarly work.
• Lead clinical innovation—including delivery of cutting-edge treatments.

A Program with Momentum
• The Center’s expertise is highly sought after with about 1,000 new and 2,400 follow up visits produced on an annual basis.
• The Center generates on average 2,300 referrals to community services per year, with nearly 40% focused on caregiver support and education.
• The Center offers the novel infusion treatments, Lecanemab and Donanemab, marking a major milestone in dementia care.
• The infusion treatment program relies heavily on a robust partnership with radiology, apheresis, pharmacy, lab services, and neurology—showcasing our strength in team-based implementation of breakthrough therapies.

Strategies Already in Place for Success:
• Leveraging Albany Med Neurology for scheduling, facilities, and expert staff
• Utilizing system-wide partnerships, especially with radiology and infusion services, to streamline treatment delivery.
• Research opportunities, including clinical research supported by research staff and grant writing professionals, as well basic research and lab space opportunities through the Department of Neurosciences and Experimental Therapeutics (DNET) at Albany Medical College.
• Research opportunities via the existing Brain Bank, with more than 100 donated brains of patients with dementia
• Educational and research opportunities through our 8 residents per year and more than 140 medical students per year
• Commitment to hiring and retaining top talent.
• Ongoing professional development and clinical innovation with a focus on emerging therapies
• Active collaboration with the NYS Department of Health, the Alzheimer’s Association, and local referring physicians to improve care at a regional level.

What We’re Looking For:
We seek a clinician-scientist, at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank, who is deeply committed to improving the lives of patients and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Leadership experience in clinical care, education and research.
• A strong track record of collaboration across departments.
• Vision and drive to grow the program’s regional and national impact.
• Enthusiasm for mentorship, teaching, and academic engagement.
