Position: Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist (Perm - Full-Time)
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join our renowned team at Sunrise Children's Hospital. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to provide expert critical care within Nevada's only congenital heart surgical program, affiliated with the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized critical care to pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art 14-bed Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).
- Manage and direct care for over 400 complex pediatric cardiac surgical cases annually, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams supporting ECMO programs and congenital heart catheterizations.
- Participate actively in patient care within a dedicated 24-bed Pediatric ICU and a newly established 30-bed pediatric emergency department.
- Support pediatric and neonatal transport services, ensuring continuity of critical care from transfer to recovery.
- Contribute academically alongside University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine residents rotating through the ICU, fostering education in pediatrics, family medicine, and emergency medicine.
- Uphold best practices and standards in pediatric cardiac critical care, integrating evidence-based approaches.
- Engage in procedural sedation services, supporting the hospital's commitment to comprehensive pediatric care.
- Provide leadership and continuity of patient care through a rotating schedule, including on-call and weekend shifts, ensuring 24/7 service coverage.
Qualifications: - Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Pediatric Critical Care or Pediatric Cardiology with additional CICU training.
- Evidence of completion of residency training in the relevant specialty within the local area; relocation may be required.
- Proven experience in pediatric cardiac intensive care is preferred.
