Overview:
We are seeking committed Nurse Practitioners to perform specialized assessments for Veterans on a PRN basis. This position offers the chance to make a difference in the lives of those who have served while enjoying a flexible work schedule. You will conduct interview-based exams and physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, without prescribing medications or providing treatment. You’ll operate within a well-organized framework, ensuring timely completion of reports and addendums, and benefit from a quick onboarding process.
Required Skills:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license with current certification.
- Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery.
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills.
- Excellent written communication for report submission.
- Ability to work independently and follow established protocols.
Nice to Have Skills: - Prior experience with compensation and pension exams.
- Familiarity with veterans' healthcare or government contract procedures.
- Ability to adapt to different exam formats and settings.
Preferred Education and Experience: - Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, preferably in general medicine or related fields.
- Experience performing compensation or health assessments is advantageous but not mandatory.
Other Requirements: - Must have own office within 50 miles of Lake City, FL, as the position requires consulting from your own facility.
- Must be within a 50-mile radius of the specified area for per diem roles.
- Ability to complete exams on a PRN, ongoing basis, with options for half-day or full-day shifts.
- Willingness to perform quick credentialing and onboarding.
- No travel reimbursement beyond your local area, as travel costs are included in the rate.
Compensation for this role includes a flat hourly rate of $402.00, with no overtime or holiday rates.
