Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Physician Assistant to support our urgent care operations on an ongoing basis. In this role, you will deliver episodic care, injury treatment, and occupational health services across all age groups, including adolescents, children, adults, and geriatrics. You will work autonomously in a well-equipped clinic, with supervision available via phone from a licensed physician. This opportunity is ideal for experienced PAs who thrive in fast-paced environments and value professional autonomy within a supportive team.
Required Skills
- Valid Physician Assistant license in Virginia or eligible for licensure
- Prior experience in urgent care and occupational health settings
- Knowledge of episodic patient care, injury management, and injury treatment
- Ability to work autonomously and confidently manage patient care
- Strong communication skills and professional judgment
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically Anthem system
Nice to Have Skills
- Additional certifications such as PALS, ACLS, or OEC
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics
- Bilingual capabilities or additional language skills
- Past experience working in a busy outpatient or urgent care environment
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in urgent care or related outpatient settings
- Proven ability to manage a broad scope of clinical procedures independently
Other Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours based on clinic needs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement available for local providers)
- Willingness to work in Martinsville, VA for the duration of each assignment
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS preferred, but not mandatory
