St. Vincents Medical Center, a 520-bed academic teaching hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is actively seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist to join our expanding Department of Medicine.

About the Program

St. Vincents Medical Center is a major academic affiliate of the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, offering a dynamic environment for physicians passionate about resident education and mentorship.

Our Hospital Medicine program is well-established, collegial, and supported by a full complement of subspecialists and dedicated intensivists.


Position Highlights (Hospitalist Job - Connecticut)

  • Hospital Type: 520-bed academic medical center
  • Location: Bridgeport, CT (Fairfield County, coastal Connecticut)
  • Schedule: ~17-19 shifts per month (non-block scheduling model)
  • Patient Census: Average 14-16 patients per shift (cap ~18-20)
  • ICU Model: Closed ICU with 24/7 intensivist coverage
  • Procedures & Coverage:
    • Hospitalists manage rapid responses
    • Intensivists lead code situations and ICU care
  • Team Structure: 25+ Hospitalists in a collaborative, team-based model
  • Support: Strong case management, nursing, and specialty backup
