Ophthalmology Section Chief Key Responsibilities:

  • Typical shift M-F, 7:30am-4:00pm OR 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Travel: up to 25% to Community Based Outpatient Clinics
  • Provides comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluation/consultations, both IP/OP, diagnosis and treatment for patients, surgical procedures, postoperative care, and follow-up management across all appropriate subspecialties of ophthalmology
  • Collaborates with other specialties to provide integrated patient management.
  • Participates in call coverage, surgical rotations, and urgent ophthalmologic evaluations
  • Oversees daily operations of the ophthalmology clinic, including scheduling, patient
  • flow, and coordination of services
  • Develops strategic plans for program growth, resource allocation, and improved access to
  • ophthalmology services
  • Additional duties as required
  • May qualify for the Education Debt Reduction Program (up to $200K over a 5-year period)

  • Competitive Salary: $359,000 - $385,000

Preferred Experience:

  • Board Certified in Ophthalmology.
  • 5+ years’ experience; Veterans experience preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
  • Current full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
