Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Cardiologist to join our team on a temporary basis at a renowned medical facility. The physician will provide inpatient and call coverage within a well-equipped hospital setting, supporting the affiliate cardiology group amid potential staffing changes. This role is ideal for clinicians seeking to contribute their expertise in a fast-paced environment while enjoying a competitive compensation package and comprehensive support.

Required Skills:

  • Valid medical license to practice in Virginia
  • Board certification or eligibility in Interventional Cardiology
  • Proven experience with coronary angioplasty, PCI, heart catheterization, and related procedures
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with carotid artery stenting and atherectomy procedures
  • Prior experience in a hospital-based cardiology practice
  • Familiarity with trauma level 1 and 2 facility protocols
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • Active Virginia medical license and privileges suitable for expedited credentialing

Other Requirements:
  • Coverage dates span from May 1 to June 30, 2026
  • Availability for scheduled procedures and on-call shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Must pass credentialing and background screening
  • Reimbursements available for travel, lodging, and transportation expenses
  • Hourly pay rate commensurate with experience and credentials
