The University of Florida Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to join its growing team at UF Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital (ONH)a modern, state-of-the-art facility serving a rapidly expanding Central Florida community.

This is an employed position with a State University system, offering stability, strong benefits, and a patient-centered clinical focus without academic or teaching requirements.


Position Highlights

  • Full-time preferred (open to part-time 0.80 FTE)
  • Employed by the University of Florida
  • No call responsibilities
  • 12 shifts per month (12-hour shifts)
  • Primarily clinical role (TEAMS Regional Physician classification)
  • Epic EMR system
  • Collaborative environment with physicians and APP support

Practice Environment

UF Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital is a 150,000-square-foot, three-story facility designed to deliver high-quality, efficient care with room for future growth.

  • Annual ED volume: ~50,000 patients
  • Emergency Department includes:
    • 7 exam rooms + dedicated triage, trauma, and consult rooms
  • Imaging capabilities: X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound
  • 4 operating rooms and 12 pre/post-op beds
  • On-site outpatient services including rehab, lab, and pre-op clinic

Current team:

  • 3 full-time physicians + locum support
  • 1 APP (3-4 days/week)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with base salary + productivity bonus (EVC model)

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
  • ACLS (or ability to obtain)
  • Eligible for Florida medical licensure
