Surgical Oncologist - Central Maine Medical Center

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Surgical Oncologist to join the growing surgical team at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. This is an excellent opportunity to join a multidisciplinary cancer care team providing comprehensive oncologic services to patients throughout Central Maine.

The incoming physician will work collaboratively with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and specialty surgical teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with benign and malignant tumors requiring surgical management
  • Perform complex oncologic surgical procedures including gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, soft tissue, and melanoma surgeries
  • Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including biopsies, tumor resections, and lymph node dissections
  • Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Participate in multidisciplinary cancer conferences and tumor boards
  • Provide consultation services and follow-up care for oncology patients
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital and regulatory standards

 

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of General Surgery Residency
  • Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology or complex general surgical oncology preferred
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maine
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and collaborative practice
