The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is seeking a Locums Psychiatrist to provide inpatient and outpatient mental health services for adult Veterans. This assignment offers a stable schedule, strong interdisciplinary support, and a mission driven VA practice environment.

Assignment Highlights

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning
• Manage care across inpatient units and outpatient clinics
• Provide medication management in accordance with VA policies
• Ensure timely follow up care, including post discharge visits
• Document all care in the VA EHR and comply with confidentiality standards
• Participate in quality, safety, and peer review activities as required

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Unrestricted U.S. medical license (any state)
• BLS & ACLS certification
• Eligible for VA credentialing and privileging
