Locum - Physician - OB/GYN Petersburg, VA

Required Skills:

• Valid medical license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one
• Proven experience in obstetrics and gynecology, including deliveries and surgical procedures
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR and documentation standards
• Ability to manage diverse obstetric cases, including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding
• Comfortable performing procedures such as suction D&C
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and teamwork orientation
• Willingness to cover hospital call and clinic shifts as needed

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with high-risk obstetric cases and collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists
• Previous locum and hospitalist experience
• Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse patient populations

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from accredited institution
• Board Certification or eligibility in OB/GYN
• Minimum of 2 years post-residency clinical practice, particularly in hospital settings

Other Requirements:

• Ability to pass credentialing within 60-90 days; temporary privileges may be considered for providers with a clean background and malpractice history
• Local candidates preferred; travel reimbursement options available
• Availability for assigned dates between May 1, 2026, and July 30, 2026, with potential for ongoing coverage
• Compliance with all licensing, certification, and hospital policies; documentation via EPIC EMR
