Requirements:

  • Board Certified in General Surgery
  • Board Certified in Surgical Critical Care
  • ACS or SCC Fellowship completion required
  • Active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA license
  • ACLS/BLS certified

Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Provide comprehensive care in Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery
  • Participate in the care of trauma patients across the full continuum, from initial resuscitation through rehabilitation
  • Serve as a clinical educator for General Surgery Residents and Surgical Critical Care Fellows
  • Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities
  • Participate in administrative and leadership responsibilities, including support of ongoing trauma verification and performance improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate on a multidisciplinary trauma program focused on quality, safety, and education
  • Documenting in Epic EMR
