We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon to provide critical call coverage at UP Health System Portage, a fully digital, Level III Trauma Facility. Required Skills:

• Active board certification with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS)
• Valid Michigan medical license
• Michigan Controlled Substances (CDS) and DEA registrations
• Proven experience in total joints and general orthopedic procedures
• Ability to manage emergency call duties effectively and efficiently
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in trauma orthopedic care
• Previous work in a Level III trauma center
• Strong clinical judgment in handling complex cases
• Familiarity with digital radiology and outpatient surgical procedures

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Minimum of 3 years of orthopedic surgical experience, especially in total joints and general orthopedics
• Prior on-call coverage experience in a hospital setting

Other Requirements:

• Onsite orientation scheduled for the morning of July 2, 2026
• Coverage entails 7 am to 7 am call shifts on designated dates, including participation in overnight coverage
• Willingness to work flexible schedules during specified periods
• Lodging support available if needed
