Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, a community-focused hospital within RWJBarnabas Health, is seeking a Chairman of Anesthesiology to lead its anesthesia services in Lakewood, New Jersey. Practice Snapshot:
• 3-room operating suite
• 1 endoscopy suite (runs 2 days/week)
• Case types include:
o General surgery
o Urology
o Limited orthopedics
o Pediatric dental
• Low daily case volume
• Most OR days end before 4 PM
• No trauma, cardiac, neuro, or OB cases

What You’ll Do:
Leadership:
• Oversee anesthesia operations, staffing, and scheduling
• Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and community service
• Serve as a liaison between anesthesia staff and hospital leadership
• Lead recruitment and quality initiatives
Clinical:
• Provide direct anesthesia care in a low-acuity setting
• Supervise or work alongside CRNAs and physician colleagues
• Maintain a visible, supportive presence in the OR
Call:
• Light call rotation
• No acute care surgery—98%+ chance of not being called in
• Call functions mostly as standby coverage, not in-house service

Qualifications:
• M.D. or D.O.; Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for NJ medical licensure
• 5+ years of clinical experience (leadership preferred)
