We are currently looking for skilled providers to support Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) in delivering vital health assessments nationwide. Overview
As a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine, you will conduct Compensation & Pension examinations and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans. Your expertise will help ensure our nation's heroes receive the appropriate evaluations they deserve. Whether working from your own office or at a VES facility within a 50-mile radius, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting veteran healthcare. This is an ongoing, PRN position designed for flexible scheduling—part-time or full-time—and offers a unique blend of clinical assessment and administrative work, without any treatment responsibilities.

Required Skills

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid Texas medical license
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine specialties
  • Demonstrated experience with physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform interview-based evaluations efficiently and professionally

Nice to Have Skills
  • Prior experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessments for government or VA settings
  • Familiarity with medical reporting and documentation processes
  • Experience working independently in a private practice setting

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2+ years clinical practice in general medicine or related specialties
  • Previous experience with veteran health assessments is a plus but not required

Other Requirements
  • Candidates must operate within the specified geographic area (within 50 miles of their home or designated office)
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including partial or full days as needed
  • Willingness to complete required training and onboarding promptly
  • No reimbursement provided for certifications or portal training prior to employment

This is an excellent opportunity for local physicians to contribute to veteran health care while enjoying competitive pay of $624 per hour, with a flat rate of $1,600 for full-day shifts and $800 for half-day shifts. A one-time bonus of $650 is available upon completing initial training and performing your first exams.
