Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine Houston, TX

As a key provider, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments independently, ensuring our nation's Veterans receive the quality evaluation they deserve.

Required Skills:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
  • Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
  • Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
  • Ability to perform exam-based evaluations with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Familiarity with Compensation & Pension exam procedures
  • Reliable transportation and a dedicated office space within 50 miles of Houston, TX

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience with veteran healthcare assessments
  • Knowledge of telehealth or remote evaluation procedures
  • Certification in relevant medical areas or additional training in VA evaluations

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Previous experience in general or internal medicine
  • Experience performing Compensation & Pension evaluations is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Own or access to a private office within 50 miles of Houston, TX
  • Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) shifts
  • Ability to complete quick credentialing and onboarding process
  • No prescribing or treatment responsibilities; focus on interview and physical assessment
  • Participation in required training and initial exams to qualify for a $650 bonus

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $402.00, with opportunities for bonus incentives.
