This program is designed for physicians in residency and supplements your program salary to help ease the economic burden of being a resident. While in your GME there are no military obligations other than to focus on program completion and earning your board certification. Your military obligation will not start until after completion.
The Financial Assistance Program (FAP) provides a yearly grant and monthly stipends.
FAP provides you with:
- Annual grant of $45,000
- Monthly stipend of $2,999
- School loan repayment up to $120,000
Requirements upon completion:
- Active duty service obligation of at least 2 years
- 6 month obligation added for each additional 6 months of program utilization
