The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is actively recruiting a board-certified full-time permanent hospital employed Urologist to join our Urology department. The Urologist provides surgical treatment with urologic injuries and diseases, performs a full range of complete Urological surgical procedures, diagnostic, management, and illness-related counseling services to the Veteran population served by this facility. They assure the provision of high quality and safety patient care both in and outside of the operating room. Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at University of Oklahoma and be involved with education & teaching of Urology fellow in our fellowship program plus medical residents, students, and other providers.

 

  1. Participate in and/or manages all aspects of a Urology Surgery Program, to include including diagnosing, treating and managing patients with urological diseases per standard, usual and acceptable or customary methods and techniques in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
  1. Perform administrative duties related to patient care management including entering progress notes, histories and physicals, discharges summaries and consults etc.
  2. Use electronic medical records.
  3. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Anesthesiologists, Surgical Providers, and medical support staff to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of patient care services.
  4. Provide guidance to Urology provider(s).
  5. Participate in service level and hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program.
  6. Participate in resident training.
  7. Other services include but are not limited to treatment of genitourinary medical conditions, performing outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures, provide consultations, work ups and pre-& postoperative care.

The OCVAMC is located in Oklahoma City, OK and is the Flagship for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System (OCVAHCS) - a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1b (medium complexity) facility. The Cardiology department serves patients across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care for more than 70,000 veterans in an area that includes 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday 08:00-4:30

U.S. Citizens receive preference non-U.S. Citizens may be considered.

Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or Urology in the U.S.

Board Certified in Urology.

The starting pay is $320,000 - $400,000 per year.
