The Department of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center invites applications for a Thoracic Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level within the Division of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery. This is an exceptional opportunity for an academically driven surgeon to join a growing, multidisciplinary thoracic oncology program at a leading academic health center.

Academic Opportunity

  • Faculty appointment within a fully accredited academic medical center
  • Active participation in medical student and resident education
  • Opportunity to engage in clinical research, program development, and scholarly activity
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary oncology team at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahomas only NCI-designated cancer center
  • Contribute to the expansion of a statewide lung cancer screening program, including innovative mobile screening initiatives

Clinical & Programmatic Scope

  • Broad thoracic surgical practice encompassing:
    • Malignant and benign diseases of the lung and esophagus
    • Foregut surgery
    • Chest wall, pleural, and mediastinal pathology
  • Access to advanced surgical technology, including:
    • DaVinci robotic platforms
    • Robotic bronchoscopy
    • Single-port robotic systems
  • Opportunity to help shape and expand a regional referral program in thoracic surgery

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine and surgical education
