Job Summary and Responsibilities

Dignity Health Medical Group is actively seeking a highly patient-centric physician to serve as a PRN Nocturnist at our St. Josephs Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.

  • 180 shifts per year (primary schedule 7 on 7 off) consisting of purely nights (6:00 pm - 6:00 am)
  • Two nocturnists are assigned during these shifts, affording a manageable workload. In addition, there are 2-3 residents/interns in the team. Average admissions 17/night for the whole team.
  • Primary responsibility is on-site adult (admit and cross cover) inpatient care. Superb inhouse subspecialty support. Magnet hospital - rarely need to transfer a patient out!

  • Academic affiliation with Internal Medicine residency program at Creighton University School of Medicine at Phoenix.
  • Collaborative and cohesive hospitalist team with near 100% retention rate and exponential growth.
  • Cerner EMR links all of our outpatient and inpatient facilities.
  • ClosedICU with 24/7 intensivists; ventilator management, procedures, running codes not required.
